Jimena Mendoza, is a Mexican artist living and working in Prague. She studied at ENPEG La Esmeralda- Mexico city, ENSAD Paris and UMPRUM Prague. Her interests lie in applied arts, crafts and design, she works mainly with ceramics, glass, drawings and collages that she combines in intricate installations. Her projects filter non-western and pre-Columbian iconographies, addressing in her latest projects representations of futurism in Eastern Europe.
Some of her recent exhibitions are: 2024 - Cuerpo V, House of the Lords of Kunštát; Materia Negruzca, Prám studios; Flat beings, Luxfer Galerie; Deep Time Walk, Pragovka Gallery; Let them fall, Volesky Galerie; 2023 – Cuerpo III, Berlinskej Model; 2022 - Shirt Skirt Skin Kin at Kurzor.
She is currently teaching at studio Sculpture II - AVU Prague.
