Born in Denmark in 1971, Sofie Thorsen lives and works in Vienna, Austria. She has shown her work internationally in numerous group and solo exhibitions and is currently an associate professor at Funen Art Academy in Odense, Denmark. Her installations, drawings, sculptures and film-based works explore issues of perception, space and the architectural object, as well as art in public space. Photographic documents often play a central role in the work, either as a point of departure or as a central part of the work itself.
