Agata Madejska graduated in photography from Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (2007) and from the Royal College of Art, London (2010). She uses experimental post-photographic processes and strategies to expand images into three-dimensional space, blurring the lines between
photography, sculpture, and installation. Her practice considers systems of power, both personal and institutional, and how we operate within various socio-political architectures, questioning the façades of language, public agreements, as well as other forms that hold associative or symbolic value.

She has exhibited internationally at galleries and institutions such as Flat Time House, London (2024), Belmacz, London (2022), Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven (2018), FRAC Normandie Rouen (2018), Jewish Historical Institute, Warsaw (2017), Kunsthaus NRW, Aachen (2017), Galeria ASP, Warsaw (2016), Museum Folkwang, Essen (2015), Albertinum, Dresden (2015), Tate Modern, London (2014), Krefelder Kunstverein (2014), Kunstverein Friedrichshafen (2013), Kestner Gesellschaft, Hannover (2013), Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen (2013) and ICA, London (2010).

Most recently she initiated or participated in projects such as PICNIC X GHHV, London (2024), hmn, London (2023), Performance Exchange, London (2022) and ArtNight,
London (2019). Her first textbook Mistakes Were Made has been published last year with Edition Taube, Munich.
