Tereza Velikova (1979) studied Conceptual and Intermedia Design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague under the guidance of Adela Matasová and later Jiří David, and continued her doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under Vladimír Skrepl. She entered the art scene in the second half of the noughties. Since then she has participated in numerous residencies, group and solo exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad. She has presented her work at the Jelení Gallery, the National Gallery, the Brno House of Arts, the House of Arts in České Budějovice, and the Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové, among others. She has completed residencies in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Vienna and Long Island (NY). She has been researching interpersonal relationships and communication for a long time. She uses videos as the main means of expression in spatial installations, often accompanied by photographs or objects. In 2014 she was nominated for the Jindřich Chalupecký Award. Among her most recent notable works is Hra hrdinů – The Game of Heroes, a multi-channel video installation prepared for Studio Hrdinů in Prague (2021/2022). Together with Tereza Severová and Barbora Zachovalová, she founded the Entrance Gallery, which she ran for almost 15 years. Her works are represented in collections of the Gallery of Fine Arts in Cheb, the Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové and the Pori Art Museum in Finland.
