Rudo Prekop is a photographer and artist; he heads the Imaginative Photography Studio at FAMU’sPhotographyDepartment. Prekop entered the artistic photography scene in the late 1980s as part of the circle of students known as the Slovak New Wave at the PhotographyDepartment of FAMU. The Slovak New Wave brought humour, absurdity, and post-modern production and stylising strategies to Czechoslovak photography. Prekop works mostly with precision black and white photography. His work is featured in major public and private collections (the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the Moravian Gallery in Brno, the Benedikt Rejt Gallery in Louny, the Slovak National Gallery, Nationale Bibliotheque Paris, Museé de la photo Arles, Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, etc.). Prekop has participated in dozens of solo exhibitions as well as more than 200 group exhibitions and projects.
