seminar of accidental wisdom: Adam Vačkář, Giant Hogweed: From Eradication to Nourishment

9. 4. 2025

Adam Vačkář is a visual artist whose conceptually driven practice intersects art, biology, and ecological thought. He investigates interactions between humans and non-native plants, notably Giant Hogweed, exploring their biological, socio-political, and spiritual entanglements. He is co-founder of the interdisciplinary platform Transparent Eyeball (with biologist Dr. Jindřich Brejcha) and co-founder of Hope Recycling Station, a platform focusing on artistic research (with critic Noemi Smolik). His work has been exhibited internationally, including at Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Art Basel, and S.M.A.K. among others, and is included in numerous public and private collections. He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He's currently working on a book about Giant Hogweed, forthcoming later this year with the Dutch publishing house Set Margins'.
